(RE)WRITE YOUR STORY: JOURNAL WRITING AS SELF-CARE
When was the last time you wrote for yourself?
Writing in a journal, is a simple, but powerful form of self-care and personal agency. Creating a ritual around it using sensory prompts taps into the mental and emotional benefits of journal writing, which has been validated by neuroscientific research.* Ritualized writing clears up mind "chatter," and develops your inner voice, empowering you to rewrite your story, and live on your own terms.

In this live online session, I'll share sensory journaling exercises based on professor and comics creator Lynda Barry's book, "Syllabus."  We will not discuss bullet journaling (bujo), or new "productivity hacks," and we will definitely not be walking on coals! And although we will use essential oils, this will not be a selling event. No typing, either (the computer is for Zoom purposes only) -- just plain ol' writing.

You'll use your own pen and paper/journal, along with the Creative Care Package that I'll ship before the workshop (with essential oil samples, a Musgrave editor pencil, and other goodies!). Sign up to see the full workshop details now!

>>For US residents only
>>Sign-up closes at 2pm EST, May 22. 2021
>>The creative care package will be shipped before the workshop

I want to know more
about this workshop!

Hi, I'm Neva Talladen!

I'm a Creative Writing Entrepreneur with more than twenty years experience as a writer and editor. I've also founded, operated and retired from my own startups in the Philippines, where I continue to serve as a remote consultant and Board Advisor.

These days, I'm usually in my tiny bungalow in Rockaway Beach, New York, happily writing my own essays (finally!) as well as helping clients write their own stories. In between this fulfilling creative work, I help publish writers in TalkingWriting.com as an Administrative Editor.

I've always believed that writing is not just for writers (or not just for the sake of getting published, anyway). Writing for yourself, pen-to-paper, is one of the simplest, and most effective forms of self-care, a way to check-in and engage our inner voice to gain insight, and start our healing process.

Recognizing your own inner voice leads to powerful self-knowledge, and gives you the tools to write and rewrite your life to make you truly happy.

Journaling from a young age has helped me stay true to myself through many life events. It became a ritual I could turn to when I felt conflicted. Over the years, I've learned to incorporate sound and olfactory prompts to deepen my writing practice. Ritualized journal writing developed a strong inner voice for me, helping me break free from the mind's harmful mental chatter.

Join (Re)Write Your Life, my Journal Writing with Creative Oils Workshop to learn about ritualized journal writing for self-care -- yes, even if you're not a "writer"! Get more info here
